Recent research and consultations commissioned by DEST and ANTA found that current adult literacy policy and practice have yet to catch up with the most recent developments in adult literacy theory. The following Action Plan outlines what has happened and what needs to be done in order to have a response ready for the results of the next Adult Literacy and Lifeskills Survey due to be released in mid-2007.
