Recognition of Prior Learning Evidence Guide (533.6 KB) |
|
The Evidence Guides have been prepared by TAFESA Vocational Preparation and Equity Program as part of the tasks undertaken for the Advanced Diploma of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Practice in VET Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Gap Training Project.
The Evidence Guides can be used as follows;
- as a self-assessment tool by individuals practitioners to determine if you meet the competency requirements of the Advanced Diploma of LLN Practice in VET
- as a basis for individual practitioners to prepare examples and develop a portfolio of evidence for the RPL process
- to take into account that the evidence produced needs to be current, valid, authentic, reliable and sufficient
- to use the Evidence Guide Questions to reflect on your underpinning knowledge and contemporary practice and approach of LLN in Vocational Education Training (VET)/Vocational Technical Education (VTE)
- to adopt a holistic approach to self-assessment and gathering evidence, rather than a unit-by-unit approach as the assessment requirements of each unit can be addressed through a combination of evidence suggested in the Evidence Guides
- by groups of VET LLN practitioners to use as a professional development tool for LLN practice in contemporary VET/VTE environment

|
The Advanced Diploma of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Practice in VET (468.5 KB) was accredited through South Australia in August 2005 and has been registered in National Training Information System (NTIS) as a national qualification.

A number of LLN educators across Australia have gained qualifications in the Advanced Diploma of LL& N practice in VET to enable them to roll out the delivery and assessment of the qualification in each of the States and Territories.

National Reporting System (NRS) |
|
The National Reporting System (NRS) is a nationally recognised mechanism for reporting outcomes of adult English language, literacy and numeracy programmes. The website contains the full NRS ‘book’ in easy to access web-page form and a wealth of associated pd resources such as case studies and examples of the way the NRS can be used in provision and assessment. The sample activities have been broadened to include more workplace-specific examples. The sample activities cover language, literacy and numeracy skills that may be found in a range of occupations and levels of employment across industries. This will assist teachers/trainers in identifying and mapping the language, literacy and numeracy skills required in the workplace to the NRS levels and aspects. Limited hard copies of the NRS can be purchased from Australian Training Products , email sales@atpl.net.au |
